What motivates you as a crafty entrepreneur? I am sorry to admit it, but maybe someone out there can give me a holla, because I know I can't be alone.
I need a deadline.
We vend every Sunday at the farmer's market, and that deadline is very VERY helpful for getting things done around here. Throw in a craft show, and I've got to get my shit together. Get it done, right? All organized, and everything just comes together like magic, a little bit at a time.
No, what usually happens is the five days before the show are CRAMMED FULL of all activity needed to prepare for the show. All of this activity that could have been done ahead of time.
I get more done during those five days than in some entire months.
This makes me wonder: is this a bad thing? Is it better to do a little bit at a time, always having SOMETHING to do for the side business, or is it better to have some actual social time, or time for napping, or time for sitting and staring off into the middle distance, because that's all I can muster?
Maybe I'm getting cynical about having a side business. Maybe I would be more organized if the business was everything.
