You have to take chances. You have to assess the risks, and jump in, knowing that you might fail.
The trick is to mitigate the risk. Sometimes all you have is your attitude to do this--to admit to yourself that selling your wares is always a crap shoot, and that you will be happy to learn something in the process. If you make some money, great. If you don't, great.
You have to turn this into a win-win situation for yourself. It's the only way to ensure your success.
