See? Totally NOT a hipster, feeding a bird
at the zoo, with my fingerless mittens at the ready, typewriter-key necklace in full effect, and upcycled shawl protecting the rest of my clothes from bird-feeding debris.
Not at all.
Actually, I'm glad I found this picture, because yes, I DO enjoy the trappings of Hipster Crafters. I do enjoy buying handmade, and wearing it. It does fit my style.
What also fits my style are roller derby t-shirts. I have a lot of them, and on any given day when working from home, that's what I'm wearing. I also usually wear my roller derby hoodies to go outside, over my roller derby t-shirt. Yoga pants or jeans complete this look.
Today, I delivered private label products that I made, to a local craft store. As I was walking from my car to this shop, I passed a woman with hair half-up, wearing a skirt and leggings and Converse low tops, and carrying the craft store's promo bag. Total Hipster Crafter.
And here I was, walking into the store, totally looking like the jock that I am, but I'm the one getting paid.
It's okay not to be a hipster. Just be yourself.
