You have one, right? A crafty business? Well, I do. I have two, actually. ​

My name is Amy Kalinchuk. I've been making and selling handmade soap for 21 years now, and we are still going strong! I say we because quite a few years ago I hired my husband, Izzy, to make soap for me and do other grunt work. I needed help. So he works full-time for our soap business, and I work part-time at it. It sure feels like full-time, though, which is why I started my series, "A Year in the Life of a Professional Crafter," to give you a glimpse into the workings of my mind. It chronicles my life for the year 2016. I still can't quite believe I did that.

A while ago I decided I needed to tell soap makers what was up, so I wrote a few books on the subject. I then decided I needed to start making videos about that, as well. I sell those books right here. My videos are on the YouTubes.

Currently, I work full-time as a public school teacher. I teach in a special education center program in high school. My husband works from home, and my daughter works with me at the farmers market and also at a dog daycare!
